Add a Dropbox sync folder

Last Updated: Dec 01, 2014 08:35PM PST
With a Dropbox sync folder, files don't just get imported and exported, they stay in sync in Dropbox, and on all your other devices.

Add a Synchronized Folder

  1. Tap “Documents,” or the folder title or icon presently displayed in the navigation bar. A menu appears.
  2. Tap “Edit Sync Folders.” Follow the prompt to choose a sync service and login.
  3. Navigate the following dialog and select a folder for synchronizing. When you’ve found the folder, tap “+ Sync Folder.”
PDFpen begins to sync the contents of the folder if you have turned on "Automatically Sync" in Tools > Settings > Dropbox. If that setting is not on, you will need to manually sync, by tapping the button, the two circular arrows in the toolbar.

Only PDF documents in a Sync folder show in PDFpen. Documents that are not PDFs are not listed. A folder that contains no PDF documents will appear to be empty.

By default none of the documents from the cloud actually download unless you tap one to open it, which prompts a download, or enable the setting to sync automatically.

To navigate between folders, move documents between folders, and tips on the "Automatically Sync" setting, check out the Help page on synchronized folders.

(Applies to PDFpen v.1 and later in iOS 7 and later).
